UK Markey Ranked Among Top Hospitals in Cancer Care by U. S. News and World Report

The University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center was ranked 33rd in the nation for cancer care in the 2019 U. S. News and World Report 2019-2020 Best Hospitals rankings and ratings. This is the third year in a row that Markey has been among the top 50 hospitals in cancer care, and has perennially been a high performer in the category.

UK HealthCare’s Albert B. Chandler Hospital earned top honors in the Bluegrass Region for the fourth consecutive year, and several of its adult specialty sectors ranked as high performing, including Geriatrics, Nephrology and Orthopedics. The healthcare system was also designated as high performing for eight other adult procedures.

“As many patients in the Commonwealth struggle with complex health issues, this recognition acknowledges and reconfirms UK HealthCare’s role as the academic medical center uniquely qualified to address our state’s extensive health needs,” said Dr. Mark F. Newman, University of Kentucky executive vice president for health affairs. “Being ranked as the Best Hospital in Kentucky is a testament to the dedication to patient care by everyone that works at UK HealthCare and their commitment to continuously improving quality and service provided to our patients.”
