Calling all pancake-lovers! The Sunset Marina and Campground Gang is hosting their annual all-you-can-eat pancake fundraiser to benefit the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Foundation on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Sunset Grill and Marina on Lake Herrington.
The “Gang” is made up of families who either have a boat slip or camp site at Sunset Marina. While the close-knit group typically gets together on the weekends to share food, laughs and a good time, they wanted to do something more in the name of a worthy cause over Labor Day weekend.
“As in years past 100% of this donation goes The Patient Support Fund at The UK Markey Cancer Foundation,” the group posted on their Facebook page. The Patient Support Fund helps provide much needed support to thousands of patients that come through the doors of the Markey Cancer Center for treatment.
“We understand that cancer can be stressful emotionally, physically and financially and we can provide assistance with basic living necessities and transportation to help facilitate the patient’s care and healing.”
The event is open to the public and will be held at Sunset Grill (325 Sunset Lodge Rd., Lancaster, KY 40444) from 9:00am until noon. The cost is $10 per person, and includes pancakes with syrup, your choice of bacon or sausage, a fruit cup, juice and coffee. A Bloody Mary Bar will also be available for a separate charge. All proceeds will benefit the UK Markey Cancer Foundation.
