The Markey Golf Classic is one of the premier charity golf tournaments in Central Kentucky. In addition to being the largest fundraising event for the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Foundation, it and has created a tradition of hosting a lively and festive dinner, live auction and calcutta the weekend prior to the tournament.
Held each year at a different exclusive venue, the Markey Golf Dinner & Calcutta has become a can’t-miss event for golfers and non-golfers alike.
This past week the UK Markey Cancer Foundation announced the location for this year’s Markey Golf Dinner & Calcutta will be the iconic and exclusive Castle & Key Distillery. This year’s guests will enjoy cocktails and a gin tasting in and around the historic springhouse beforee being escorted to the iconic Shooking Building, where they will enjoy a gourmet dinner, live auction, a calcutta auction of the following week’s golf teams and a lighthearted roasting of the tournament players.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the UK Markey Cancer Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Markey Cancer Center, Kentucky’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center.
