The volley ball team at Winchester High School just outside of Lexington, Kentucky held their annual “Pink Out” on October 8 to honor those family and friends of their team who have or continue to battle breast cancer.
The gymnasium was a sea of pink, with all fans and supporters wearing pink t-shirts and both volley ball teams sporting pink uniforms.
The volley ball boosters sold breast cancer awareness apparel and items, hosted a silent auction, and raised donations in the name of the UK Markey Cancer Foundation’s Cathy Coop Patient and Family Support Fund. By the end of the evening, more than $500 had been raised for the fund, with additional funds coming in after the check presentation.
