India Covid-19 Relief
The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is causing unprecedented challenges and hardships for the 1.39 billion people in India.
More than 400,000 daily cases for the first time were reported on Saturday, May 1, 2021, and a record-high number of deaths were reported May 3, 2021.
It is said that several states in the country are preparing to go into “complete lockdown” in the next few days.
Another devastating statistic is that in this debilitating wave of widespread Covid-19 in India, there is one Covid-19 death recorded approximately every five minutes.
The U.S. has already started shipping valuable vaccine components, oxygen and masks to India, and other countries are lending help as well, but in view of the magnitude of the problems, the demand for life-saving oxygen supplies by far will outstrip supply.
The students, staff, and faculty of the Markey Cancer Center have started a donation drive to send oxygen concentrators and accessories through the non-profit Markey Cancer Foundation and the non-profit US-India Chamber of Commerce to our partnering cancer centers in India.
Time is of the essence, and the need is urgent.
Please make a tax-deductible donation below and help us supply India with life-saving equipment, such as oxygen concentrators and other necessary medical supplies, so that they can get this devastating COVID-19 crisis under control.
1 Oxygen Concentrator = $731.25
Pallet of 16 Oxygen Concentrators = $11,700
